CHALLENGE
The 16 buildings designed by eight avant-garde architects that make up the Greenwich Design District in Greenwich, London, serve as a permanent home for the creative industries. The responsibility of providing LED illumination for the rooftop basketball court and the urban landscape was given to LMXLED LTD. Our designer proposed a solution that had to take the location of the basketball court into account to ensure light pollution was kept to a minimum and to ensure the lights were extremely low glare for the players using the court. Our brief was to offer a compliant lighting design for the basketball court and area lighting.
SOLUTION
The basketball court on the roof was designed with our requirements in mind, and our designer offered an ultra-low-glare light to reduce glare for both players utilising the court and any nearby buildings or neighbours. The urban landscape area lighting was chosen using the same criteria; it had to be lowglare and have a modern appearance.
