CHALLENGE
We were approached by Sutton Churches Tennis Club to replace their old inefficient halide lamps with LED. The difficulties were the lighting poles were over 12 meters high and there were surrounding residential houses. The local residents wanted to reduce the light pollution that was currently being emitted from the existing lighting. The club wanted to improve lighting levels and uniformity, reduce their monthly energy running costs and also have the lights switch on instantly.
SOLUTION
We worked with one of our preferred contractors and they arranged the access equipment and electricians leaving LMXLED to focus on the lighting design. We opted for light fittings with special optics and a light shield. In our design we were able to calculate the lux levels at the surrounding residential properties. We were able to fall well within the guidelines set out in reference to CIE 150:2021. We achieved this by utilising special optics recommended by our designer. The project was completed sucessfully and Sutton Churches Tennis Club were very happy with the improved lighting levels and reduced running costs and the surrounding residents now have a substantial reduction in light spill.
